Forest Hill Lofts

Fairbank / Briar Hill  ·  Est. 1931

A rare example of Art Deco industrial architecture in midtown Toronto. Built in 1930-31 as the Canadian headquarters of Coats & Paton — makers of Beehive brand thread — the L-shaped building employed over 800 workers at its peak and operated as a textile factory until 1999. Converted in 2003 into 137 hard lofts with 13-ft ceilings, original fluted concrete columns, polished concrete floors, and expansive factory windows. Units run from 667 to over 1,100 sq ft. Backs onto the York Beltline Trail.
