History of SoHo Bayview Lofts

Aerial photos show trees here in 1947, a different building from 1950 into the early 1970s, and the present building by 1973. In the 1990s it carried the sign of the CUMBA Health Network, which handled drug benefits for City of Toronto staff until the City switched providers in 1996; the building was listed for sale in 1998.

Bruce Greenberg's Starwood Group, which had just turned 188 Eglinton East into the Soho Lofts, bought this one too and converted it in 2002. The 40 lofts run from about 600 to just under 1,200 square feet, with 11-foot ceilings, big multi-pane windows, sliding bedroom doors on industrial rails, a gym, games room and outdoor BBQ area. Parking is rented, and it is pet-friendly.
